Last week I went to an exhibition named “Fashion Mix : Mode from here, designers from elsewhere”. It tells the story of all the foreigners designers, craftsmen, and tailors who came to France and contributed to the fame of Paris as the capital of High Fashion. The exhibition is a tribute to all the Russian, English, Italian, Japanese fashion designers and how they had (and still have) a huge influence in the high fashion industry. Paco Rabane, Azzedine Alaïa, Cristobal Balenciaga or Yohji Yamamoto weren’t born in France but still have revolutionized the French fashion. Fashion Mix presented hundred of iconic pieces from the most influental designers: dresses, coats, pants and other accessories. And did you know that the high fashion was invented in France from an English man named Charles Frederick Worth? The exhibition begins with his story.
As for my outfit, I finally bought the infamous Stan Smith sneakers. :) My co-worker was wearing them everyday for 1-2 years, so I guess it had its influence (along with seeing them everywhere). Usually I’m more into the Converse sneakers (blue ones. Always.), but I really wanted to own white sneakers for once… I love them, they are comfy and look really good ! As for the flower t-shirt…it’s a dress I tucked under my jeans because I wasn’t happy with its length. Why not I guess ? It gives an old-school look but cool vibe too. This time I’m using my Cecil Mcbee white bag (cf my previous article :) as a backpack. It matches well with my outfit, I think !
